Vijay Deodhar founded 3D InFusion in 2012 to provide CADD (Computer-aided design, drafting), BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other architectural and engineering support services to designers, builders and facility owners.

Since inception, the firm has successfully completed hundreds of public and private projects, worked closely with numerous prominent A/E/C (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) firms and facility owners, earned notable awards and recognitions and has remained firmly committed to its core values.

PDXNext Terminal Core Redevelopment Project

To stay on the leading edge of airports nationwide, the agency has undertaken several hundred million dollars worth of comprehensive redevelopment initiatives and projects. PDXNext Core Redevelopment project is one of those initiatives that consist of modernizing the heart of the PDX terminal (necessary to ensure sufficient capacity for future passenger demand), upgrading seismic resiliency, and replacing aging systems and infrastructure.

As a subconsultant to ZGF Architects + KPFF Consulting Engineers, 3D InFusion’s role on this project has been to build a structural as-built 3D model of the entire PDX terminal in Revit platform.

The unique advantages we offered included:

  • Deep understanding of how airport terminals operate and are built
  • An aptitude for sifting through archives and compiling information to prepare reliable 3D as-built model

Multiple Healthcare Facilities

Providence Health System is the third-largest not-for-profit health system in the United States, with 34 hospitals, 600 physician clinics, 22 long-term-care facilities, and 18 hospice and health programs. As part of its ongoing facilities management – as well as real estate-related acquisition and modernization functions – the organization needs to maintain volumes of facility plans, maps and data.

3D InFusion’s role on these projects typically consists of providing field verification of facilities, walk-throughs, and updates of existing facility plans and data to ascertain accuracy and compliance with internal standards – especially pertaining to JCAHO certifications.

The Big Pipe Project

The Big Pipe Project

This was the biggest ($1.4 billion) public works project in Portland history – the overhaul of its antiquated wastewater system to divert raw sewage from flowing into the Willamette River and the Columbia Slough.

3D InFusion’s worked as a subconsultant to Kiewit Bilfinger Berger, JV on this project. Their role consisted of providing on-site CADD support construction visualization and logistical support, phasing and stakeholder communication.

The unique advantages we offered included:

  • Experience with a deep understanding of infrastructure projects, especially underground tunnel borings and fabrication/installation of segmented pipes, heavy equipment, utilities, ROWs, and 3D alignments
  • Staying flexible when working with other A/E/C experts and vendors
  • Expertise in using various relevant graphic design technologies
  • In-depth knowledge in architecture/civil, survey and structural engineering fields

Portland Milwaukie Light Rail (PMLR) Orange Line Project

Portland Milwaukie Light Rail (PMLR) Orange Line Project

The Portland Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project was conceived as essential investment ($1.5 billion) toward the long-term economic vitality of the Portland region, helping connect people to their jobs and higher education.

3D InFusion’s role on this project consisted of providing on-site CADD support to two large prime consultants, including DEA (David Evans & Associates), CH2M HILL, and a few other A/E consultants on this complex multi-disciplinary project.

The unique advantages we offered included:

  • High level of expertise in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D and various other graphic technologies.
  • CADD training and customization
  • A thorough understanding of transportation projects-especially light rails, elevated structures, 3D alignments, utilities and ROW's

Sellwood Bridge Project

Sellwood Bridge Project

  • Client Multnomah County, OR

This was one of the largest undertakings of Multnomah County, OR that replaced a 90-year-old original bridge over Willamette river with the new bridge ($307 million). In addition to building new spans, the project involved mitigating large landslide conditions with sophisticated geotechnical solutions and adding new interchanges.

3D InFusion’s role on this project consisted of providing on-site CADD support to two large prime consultants, including CH2M HILL and Cornforth Consultants on this complex multi-disciplinary project.
